College of Humanities, Arts & Social Sciences

Overview

As Nanyang Technological University strives to become a comprehensive university, the College of Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences supports this thrust by fortifying its key strengths in engineering, business and science with an equally strong component of education and research in the areas of humanities, arts and social sciences. The College , home to some 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students, represents the dynamic interface between several major disciplines in three distinct schools : the School of Art, Design and Media, Singapore's only professional art school to offer degree courses in art, design and interactive digital media; the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, a premier school in communication studies in Asia; and the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, an energetic school offering a stimulating range of degree courses in the humanities and social sciences. At the College, undergraduate students have the opportunity to work both within and beyond their primary discipline, and at the exciting fringes where disciplines meet. The College provides a curriculum of both breadth and depth, places strong emphasis on analytic and communicative competence, and is committed to promoting internationalisation and cross-cultural understanding.
