  Special Terms

The University offers two Special Terms during the Semester 2 vacation. Special Term I is held from May to June and Special Term II from June to July.

Participation in the Special Terms is optional. Except students who will be graduating at the end of Semester 2 prior to the Special Terms, all full-time matriculated students of NTU are allowed to participate. Additionally, only students who are not away during the Special Term classes or examinations for activities such as In-Camp Training, attachment programme, sports, holiday, part time employment, etc can apply. Students who are reading courses in Special Term to complete their degree requirements in that academic year may not be able to join the year’s Convocation.

The courses offered that are excluded from charging of Special Term fees are:

  • Minor in Entrepreneurship courses (EN101 – EN105)
  • Undergraduate Research Opportunity Programme (UROP)/Undergraduate Research Experience on Campus (URECA)
  • Industrial Orientation/Internship and Professional Attachment
