Table Tennis is the world most popular racket sport. It is an indoor sports and sometimes it is called ping-pong.  As you can see from the name, it looks like a miniature version of tennis. But the rules are somewhat different. You can play either 1-to-1 or 2-to-2, i.e. single and double. Play starts from service of one player. The service should bounce once on the server's side and another bounce in receiver's side. Other than the service the ball you hit cannot touch your side of table. Game ends when one of players reaches to 11 points or over 11 points and 2 points more than the opponent.

NTU table tennis team came in 3rd runner up in the Inter Statutory Board Games (ISBG) competition played in 2006.

We would like to congratulate the NTU Table Tennis Team for their gallant effort.

On 21 August 2007 after much training and team effort, they mananged to clinch the Championship Title at the Inter-Tertiary Institute Staff-NUSS (ITIS-NUSS) Games.

SRC has training sessions every Wednesday from 1800 hrs to 21.00 hrs at NIE.  For more information, kindly contact SRC table tennis convenor A/P Wong Tai Chee.  Email:  taichee.wong@nie.edu.sg

There are also two table tennis tables in the Staff Recreation Club at Yunnan Corner where you can also play.  However, you will need to be a member of the club in order to gain entry into the premises.
