Snooker is an
attractive game due to its combative nature, whereby one player is tactically
engaged against another whilst trying to win the game by scoring more points
than the other player by potting the appropriate coloured balls each with a
specific number of points. The play situation is infinite and the
satisfaction gained from delivering a difficult shot or achieving cue ball
control is difficult to describe. There is 'more going on' at the table for
two players to enjoy than other cue games (e.g. pool, billards). Once the
basic shots are mastered, players can quickly get to enjoy the fascinating
aspects of the game. The game is gaining popularity in Asia with many rising
‘Asian’ stars. This sport is classed as a merit sport with the SSC. Yunnan
Corner has a 10’x5’ snooker table where SRC members can come down anytime and
enjoy the game. We
now have a group of players, both learners and those good at snooker who meet
every Wednesday for training and social interaction. For more information on joining the NTU SRC
Snooker Team or to gain more knowledge on the Snooker game, please contact
