Scholarships for undergraduates
In recognition of academic excellence and leadership
potential, NTU offers a variety of scholarships to new as well as existing
students pursuing full-time undergraduate studies. Scholarships are generally awarded to students based on academic merit
and good co-curricular records.

2) Scholarships
for existing students
To reward academic excellence, the University administers a
number of undergraduate scholarships. The NTU administered scholarships are of
a quantum of $3,000 to $5,000 each with no bond attached. They are tenable only
for the year in which they are awarded.

Where "All" is indicated, it means that the
scholarship is also open to NIE students. Applications from NIE students will be forwarded to Student and Academic Services
Department, NIE for verification of eligibility.

To assist students who are in financial
need, the Office of Admissions and Financial
Aid administers loans and bursaries.
(a)
Tuition Fee Loan
Full-time
undergraduates (regardless of nationality) paying a subsidised
tuition fee may apply to take the Tuition Fee Loan to finance
up to 90% of the subsidised tuition fee. Interest and
repayments commence after graduation.
(b)
NTU Study Loan
To cover
the remaining 10% of the tuition fee payable and cover the living expenses,
eligible undergraduates may apply for additional loans through the NTU Study
Loan. The NTU Study Loan must be concurrently with the maximum (90%) Tuition
Fee Loan, 100% CPF Education Scheme, 100% Mendaki
Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy or a combination of all three
covering 100% of fees. The per capita monthly household income must be less
than $1,000. Interest and repayment commence after graduation.
(c) CPF
Education Scheme
The Central
Provident Fund (CPF) Education Scheme is for the payment of tuition fees for
full-time undergraduate programmes. It does not cover
compulsory miscellaneous fees and hostel fees.
Under the CPF Education Scheme, students can use their own CPF savings, their
spouse's and their parents' CPF savings to pay their tuition fees.
(d) Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy
The Mendaki Tertiary Tuition Fee Subsidy offered by the Yayasan Mendaki is meant for Malay Singaporean students who have enjoyed
free secondary and/or pre-university education and whose monthly gross family
income is below $3,000.
(e) Bursaries
The
NTU-administered bursaries are for full-time undergraduates who need financial assistance to cover fees or defray living
costs.
The bursaries range in value from $600 to $3,000 and are tenable for one
academic year.
(f) NTU
Student Personal Computer Loan
The NTU
Student Personal Computer Loan is an interest-free loan awarded to full-time
undergraduates for the purchase of a personal computer so that they can fully
exploit IT for learning. Full-time matriculated NTU undergraduates may apply
for the loan only once during their period of study.
(g) Overseas
Student Study/ Attachment Programme Loan and
Scholarship
This financial assistance scheme is for NTU undergraduates
who are selected to study and/ or work overseas under
the Overseas Student Exchange Programme/ Global
Immersion Programme or to undergo industrial attachment/
professional attachment/ professional internship overseas.
(h) Work-Study
Scheme
The
Work-Study Scheme offers students an opportunity to earn money to help meet
varsity expenses and at the same time, gain valuable work experience. The
scheme consolidates jobs available on campus for easy viewing and application
by students.
