Led by A/Prof Joachim Loo (NTU) and A/Prof Lim Kah Leong (SingHealth), a single pill comprising of nano-capsules is developed with capability of releasing multiple drugs at a controlled rate. This study demonstrates how a once-a-day poly-pharmacy pill can provide slow release of multiple drugs to relief the debilitating effects of Parkinson’s disease, where patients traditionally have to take their pills up to five times a day. demonstrating similarly or even better effect than traditionally consumption of nine conventional pills in relieving the debilitating effects of Parkinson's.
