The inaugural GO-FAR programme was conducted in 2005, where 13 students worked out of Ampara and Batticaloa districts in Sri Lanka and 12 students visited Meulaboh, Aceh in Indonesia, over two separate weeks in July and September. They focused on the impact of the December 2004 Tsunami in these countries.
