Overview

As Nanyang Technological University strives to become a comprehensive university, the College of Humanities, Arts, & Social Sciences was formed to support this thrust by strengthening its key strengths in engineering, business and science, with an equally strong component of education and research in the areas of humanities, arts and social sciences. The College comprises three multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary schools: the School of Art, Design and Media, Singapore's first professional art school to offer degree courses in art, design and interactive digital media; the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information, a premier school in communication studies in Asia; and the School of Humanities & Social Sciences, an energetic school offering a stimulating range of degree courses in the humanities and social sciences.

The College aspires to be a college of excellence that :

  • Exercises leadership in research and teaching in the humanities, arts and social sciences
  • Advances knowledge through research that makes an impact on scholarly discourse
  • Produces graduates with creative and innovative talent to meet the challenges of the 21st century
  • Contributes to the achievement of NTU’s strategic goal of establishing itself as a world-class university founded on science and technology
