CN Yang Scholars Programme

The CN Yang Scholars Programme is a premier undergraduate programme for Science and Engineering students with a deep passion in science and technology. It is named in honour of Professor CN Yang, Nobel Laureate in Physics (1957) and one of our era’s greatest scientists.

The programme shares the same philosophy as the Caltech Core Curriculum and the MIT General Institute Requirements in providing a strong and broad foundation in the basics of science and mathematics. This empowers the student to delve deeper into any discipline in science, technology, engineering and mathematics, and to develop an interest in forefront research.

After completing the core curriculum, a student may pursue any Engineering or Science Degree Programme. Every student will be assigned a mentor who will provide guidance for the student’s whole academic programme at NTU. Upon completion of the challenging CN Yang Scholars Programme, the scholar will also be awarded a special certificate.

A maximum of 50 students per academic year are admitted into this programme. Top students with outstanding academic records and are passionate in science and technology are eligible to apply for the CN Yang Scholars Programme. Shortlisted students will be awarded a full scholarship that covers tuition fees and living expenses.
