We are a systems neuroscience laboratory at Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a partnership between Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and Imperial College London in the UK.
The broad scope of our laboratory is to study learning in intelligent systems. Toward this aim, we seek to integrate diverse disciplines of science including neuroscience, psychology, engineering and artificial intelligence (AI) to understand fundamental principles governing the function and organisation of neural networks in biological and artificial systems. We utilise various technologies in neuroscience, including two-photon imaging, electrophysiology, optogenetics and virus-mediated circuit mapping to investigate the link between neural circuits and behaviour. We also employ tools in AI such as deep reinforcement learning to better understand various domains of natural intelligence.
We are always seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team. In particular, we look for people with a strong background in math, computer science, AI and robotics. If you are interested, please directly contact the PI at hmakino_at_ntu.edu.sg (replace _at_ with @).
