Facilities-NTRC Lab

NTRC is located in the new state-of-the-art Research Techno Plaza in NTU. NTRC owns a total lab space of 12,000 square feet and is fully equipped to provide technical support and facilities to both academic (undergraduate and postgraduate levels) and industry-relevant research in the areas include broadband network design, optical network design and implementation, optical transmission systems and fibre-based computer networks. The centre also supports undergraduate students during their DIP in-house practical training, URECA and final-year project.

The Centre houses seven labs for various R&D activities. Three joint-labs are established by internal and external partners.

NTRC is well-equipped with up-to-date equipments such as optical spectrum analyzer, high power raman laser, multi-channel source, 40GHz synthesizer signal generator, laser diode controller, communication signal analyzer, optical test system, tunable laser source, optical spectrum analyzer, scanning beam fiber grating fabrication system, optical amplifier analyzer, vector network analyzer, switches, routers, digital transmission analyser, optical power meter, networking and network simulation software, high speed fibre optic systems, fibre fusion splicer, optical time domain reflectometer, vector network analyser, digitising oscilloscopes, RF spectrum analyser, high end PCs , optical isolators, WDM couplers and phase masks.

For research area, the centre has Fiber Bragg Grating (FBG), Hydrogen Loading, Hydrogen Coupler, Bluetooth and ILogic Coupler Polishing System. In addition, software simulation work using Optisystem, Rsoft, OPTNET, VPItransmissionMaker, EDFA_Design and IFO_Gratings are also done in the centre.
