Meta-Portal
This project aims to develop a digital library system for distributed
Geography learning objects and providing the essential tools to
support problem-based learning. The research tasks include analyzing
the content of those Geography related educational websites, constructing
a community-driven review system for creating metadata and managing
them, developing a object sharing mechanism to access remote learning
object repositories making it possible to conduct advanced search
and visualization over the distributed learning objects, and enabling
the transduction of these educational content into students’
personalized project resources.

G-Portal
G-Portal is a Web-based digital library that collects metadata of
geospatial and geo-referenced resources on the Web and provides
digital library services to access them. It adopts a map-based interface
as its primary point of access to visualize and manipulate the distributed
geospatial and geo-referenced content. A classification-based interface
is also provided to classify and visualize all resources. This interface
is supported by a flexible classification language and the backend
classification engine. G-Portal’s annotation capabilities
allow users to contribute geospatial and geo-referenced contents
as well as their associated metadata. Query of resources based on
keywords in attributes and geospatial location are also supported.
