Scholarship
• Singaporeans, Singapore Permanent Residents,
citizens of ASEAN countries and other international
students seeking admission as full-time Ph.D.
research candidates in NTU.
• Successful applicants have to take up Singapore
Citizenship.
• Graduates with (1) 1st Class Honours or (2) 2nd
Upper Honours and good ‘A’ Level result or
polytechnic diploma with merit.
• Applicants are encouraged to apply with their GRE
scores. Applications without GRE test scores will
still be considered but successful applicants will
have to satisfy the GRE requirement before
embarking on their PhD studies.
The average scores of successful awardees for the
combined Verbal and Quanititative components for
past batches were 1370 with a standard deviation
of 100 with at least 4.5 for the Analytical Writing
Components.

Alumni
• Open to alumni and applicants who are children or
siblings of NTU’s alumni and who are pursuing
any full-time graduate programmes conducted at
NTU.
• Academic records and financial circumstances will
be considered.
• Preference given to Singaporeans or permanent
residents.
The period of application each year is from 30 July
to 13 August. Applications received after this
period will not be processed.

Support for up to four years of academic
pursuit, leading to a Ph.D.
Monthly allowance, full tuition, and other
allowances (such as computer allowance,
thesis allowance, book allowance,
conference allowance)
Opportunities for overseas attachment of
up to 12 months during the PHD studies.
Successful candidates will receive a
monthly stipend, full tuition fees, and other
compulsory fees and allowances for
attending both local and international
conferences.
Monthly stipend of $3,100 - $3,300 per
month.
Conference support of up to $4,000 per
year.
The sponsorship period is up to 4 years.
Each scholarship is tenable for the
academic year in which it is awarded.
Value of award is $3,000 per annum.
There is no bond attached to the
scholarship.
