Degree Programmes and Requirements
MSE offers full-time and part-time graduate programmes, leading to the following degrees:
- Master of Engineering (M. Eng.)
- Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
Applicants with foreign basic degree are required to submit valid TOEFL and GRE scores. GATE score may be accepted in place of GRE for candidates with Indian basic degrees.
- For Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) programme
The normal requirement is a Bachelor’s degree with at least a Second Class Honours level or equivalent, from a recognized university in material science, materials engineering or a related field.
- For Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme
The normal requirement is a Master’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized university. In addition, the candidate must possess a demonstrated ability to pursue independent research in his/her proposed field of research.
