3. Term Grade Point Average (TGPA)

TGPA represents the grade point average of all courses attempted by a student in any term of study

TGPA = Sum of (Grade point x AUs for courses attempted in the term)
Total AU attempted in the term of study

‘Term’ refers to either semester or trimester as defined periods of study in each programme.

4. Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) CGPA represents the grade point average of all courses attempted by a student up to the time of calculation of the CPA.

CGPA = Sum of (Grade point x AUs for course attempted to date)
Total AUs attempted to date

5. The TPGA and CGPA will be reflected in a student’s transcript.

6. Courses that are exempted and courses approved as transfer credits will not be counted in the calculation of TGPA or CGPA. However, they will be counted towards the AU requirement for graduation, and reflected in the transcript.

7. A Fail (F) grade obtained in a course, and a new grade attained for any subsequent repeats, will be counted in the calculation of TGPA and CGPA. The grades for all attempts will be reflected in the transcript.
