Sports and Recreation

An active sporting calendar and ample opportunities for recreation form an integral part of the NTU experience.

Competitive sports

The serious athlete may vie to represent NTU in one of some 45 sports at the Singapore Universities Games, the Institute-Varsity-Polytechnic Games, local leagues, or regional and international competitions. They may also work towards representing Singapore and the University in the World University Games and the ASEAN University Games.

Sports exchanges

Besides competitions, students may also bring their sport to a higher level through sports exchanges with overseas universities.

Re’kre-at NTU

For pure recreation, students may join regular group exercise sessions or indulge in their favourite sport under the Re’kre-at NTU programme.

Pretty Tuff

Pretty Tuff is a programme specially geared towards encouraging ladies at NTU to exercise. For a nominal membership fee each semester, students can enjoy exercise programmes such as yoga, pilates and kickboxing.

Healthy lifestyle

Members of the university can look forward to a host of health and fitness events, quizzes and talks, as well as the Sports for Life Fitness Assessment, all of which are organised by the Healthy Lifestyle Unit.

Students’ Sports Club

Students drive the active sporting lifestyle at NTU, managing for themselves, 21 sports sub-clubs.
