Prof. Wei Zhou has been Consultant to numerous government organizations, multinational companies, Singapore Stock Exchange listed companies, and local SMEs on engineering reliability and analysis of failures (e.g., due to fatigue, fracture, impact loading, corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking). He has solved engineering problems which occurred in a wide range of manufacturing processes, including casting, welding, plasma nitriding, machining, and filament winding. During his consultancy service to industry he has dealt with an extensive range of engineering materials, including fibrous composites, tempered glass, aluminium alloys, magnesium alloys, titanium alloys, stainless steels, ultrahigh strength steels, superalloys, lead-free solders, and semiconductors. He served as President of Singapore Fracture Group and Chairman of Technical Consultancy Committee, Singapore Welding Society.

 

Presently, he is Council Member of SWS (Singapore Welding Society), Chairman of Welding Technology Committee of SWS, and Chairman of Board of Examiners for IIW (International Institute of Welding) Authorized National Body of Singapore.
