COMPACT MODELING CHAIR'S REPORT (N. Arora)
Narain reported that the Compact Modeling Committee was formed in 2001
to promote interaction among compact model (CM) developers, technology
developers, and circuit designers and to objectively identify, examine
and evaluate current compact models for circuit simulations. Recent
activities of the committee include the Workshop on Compact Modeling in
Boston during March 2004, which included 80 participants and 12 invited
papers. Additionally, a half-day Symposium on Compact Modeling that
was held in Santa Clara on 7 May 2004 in collaboration with SCV-EDS Chapter,
in which different types of MOS/interconnect models were covered.
Also, the committee is progressing on possibly putting together an on-line
journal on compact modeling. The journal would be industry oriented
and would not have any peer review but would be reviewed by Compact Modeling
Committee members before archiving and would have three issues a years.
