COMPACT MODELING CHAIR'S REPORT (N. Arora)
The Compact Modeling Committee Chair discussed a twelve-page
report. Significant points of the presentation included:
Narain Arora reported that the Compact Modeling Committee started in 2001,
and it currently has about 8 active committee members. Their main
focus is to promote interaction among Compact Modeling developers, technology
developers, and circuit designers and to objectively identify, examine
and evaluate current compact models for circuit simulations.
As a committee, they have begun to make progress regarding an on-line Journal
of Compact Modeling for Circuit Simulation, which would focus on devices
and interconnects and to be industry oriented. There would be no
peer review with the journal, but all its submission would be reviewed
by the Compact Modeling Committee members before archiving and be issued
four times a year. In addition, a workshop was held in Puerto Rico
in 2002 for the first time and a FSA Workshop was held in September on
device and interconnects.
