This talk will address the authors experience of the profits and perils of cross disciplinary practice within the field of Computational Aesthetics. Of special focus will be the difficulties of computationally modeling the complex and inconsistent rules involved in the act of picture-making. He will address what is and isn't currently possible and indicate possible areas of future research. He will also expound on what he believes are key shortcomings in current practice.
