As part the BPE Week, there will be various courses and seminars held to maximise the interactions of experience and dissemination of best practices. Information about these events is listed below:

Basic Orthopaedic Biomechanics (28th Jul & 4th Aug 2006)

The objective of this course is to allow participants to understand the biomechanics of bone and joints. With the appreciation of the engineering aspects of biomechanics, participants will be equipped to initiate research projects that interest them.

Public Seminar (7th Dec 2006)

Tentative Title: Membrane technology in the development of controlled drug delivery systems

Venue: NTU LT12 (South Spine)
Time: 1130hr to 1230hr 

The speaker for this seminar is Assistant Professor DS Stamatialis from the University of Twente. He is an active member of the Membrane Technology Research Group at his University. NTU-SGH Graduate Student Symposium (8th Dec 2006)

The Student Symposium is a special event of the BPE Week which will be held inline with the ICBPE 2006 conference. The Student Symposium provides an opportunity for graduate students to present their works, to exchange their research interests, and to promote the biomedical and pharmaceutical research in SGH to the audience of medical doctors.

Selected student papers will be invited to the ICBPE 2006. Admission is free for all local students registered ICBPE 2006 attendees and doctors from SGH. The SGH-Postgraduate Medical Institute (PGMI) will host this event.
