Biomedical Research Council (BMRC) was established in October 2000 to support, oversee and coordinate public sector biomedical research and development activities in Singapore

BMRC oversees the development of main research activities in A*STAR research institutes, promotes cross-disciplinary research to advance human healthcare and supports biomedical research in universities and hospitals.  It also helps to nurture young scientists through their outreach programs.

BMRC works closely with the Singapore Economic Development Board's (EDB) Biomedical Sciences Group and Bio*One Capital, to make Singapore into a leading force in Biomedical Sciences in Asia

Science and Engineering Research Council (SERC) promotes public sector research and development in Science and Engineering to boost Singapore's science and engineering industries.

SERC's objectives are to generate high quality research in key disciplines, nurture young scientists for research and involve in the most advance technology in the world.

2006 sees the 2nd year for A*STAR Graduate Symposium which serves to provide an ideal platform for our A*STAR graduate scholars to showcase their accomplishments and contributions on the various research fields.

It also serves as a networking session to allow students to actively interact with our professors from NTU, NUS and A*STAR.  Students will also be given opportunities to speak to the well known keynotes in the research fields to learn more about their success and passions in their research careers. Not only that, students will also get a chance to talk with their senior A*STAR graduate scholars in the respective research institutes and universities, who will be our next generation pillars in the research field.

Through this event, it will promote the exciting and challenging research environment, the vibrant lives of being a researcher and the upcoming trends in research in this current world.

Last but not least, A*STAR Graduate Symposium 2006 will definitely be an inspiring event to everyone!
