I was attached to DBS Bank, Hong Kong for my Professional Attachment. While there, I got the chance to observe the branch’s operations via rotation among the various departments like Current & Savings A/C, Fixed Deposit, Bills & Remittances, Custodians & Trust and Credit. While at each department, I understudied the clerical staff.

The people at the bank were rather receptive to the idea of having a Singaporean student in their midst. They were friendly and helpful and some really took good care of me, so much so I did not feel homesick at all.

I enjoyed myself a great deal in Hong Kong, what with the exciting night-life, the fantastic food, the wonderful and fun people I was with and of course, the once-in-a-lifetime Handover event. I couldn’t have asked for more in a Professional Attachment, could I?
