Tran Group

Nanyang Technological University

Welcome to the homepage of Tuan Tran’s Research group. Our group’s objective is to carry out basic research and help developing state-of-the-art technologies that necessitate new theories, experimental data and engineering know-how on multiphase flows involving liquid-vapor phase transitions and heat exchange. Such flows are common in applications as diverse as energy generation, heat and mass transportation, spraying cooling, combustion injection, and thermal micropump. To name a few, the research areas that we are currently investigating are:

  1. Interaction between liquid droplets and superheated surfaces.

  2. Phase transition and heat exchange in microflows.

  3. Energy harvesting/conversion.

  4. Two-dimensional turbulent flows in soap films.
