Preface |
Workshop on
Compact Modeling (WCM) was created in association with the NSTI Nanotech
in 2002, and this year marked the 10th anniversary of WCM. It was one of
the first of its kind in bringing people in the compact modeling field
together, and it has become a premier forum for the compact modeling community
in knowledge creation, information exchange, and promotion of model diversity.
The objective of WCM is to create a truly open forum for discussion among
experts in the field as well as feedback from technology developers, circuit
designers, and CAD tool vendors. Since its establishment, it has served
the community its historic role during which many new industry standard
models have been developed. It will continue to play its role in bridging
model developers and users in the fab, fabless, EDA and university communities.
To commemorate the 10th anniversary,
a special CDROM collection of the WCM proceedings in the past 10 years
is created, including the valuable inaugural WCM 2002 volume. It is hoped
that it will serve as a useful reference for people who want to keep up
with the history and latest development in compact models for circuit simulation,
as well as a memento for those who have supported and contributed to the
success of WCM. Special thanks go to all those participants as well as
the Nanotech organizers.
