Quiz #1 -
Prerequisite Knowledge for CE107
Quiz #1 contains 15 short multiple choice questions (MCQ) which
assesses your level of understanding of the prerequisite knowledge
required by the CE107 course. These material includes binary/
hexadecimal number system and arithmetic, basic digital logic
components, memory devices, basic programming concepts and some
related computer terminologies.
The Self Instructional Quiz helps you gauge your level of understanding
of a particular subject or topic. In most cases, useful background
are given to explain why a particular answer is the correct one.
I have tried as much as possible to provide references for your
further reading. You should take note of these references especially
if you have failed to answer the question correctly. It is not
the purpose of this quiz to replace your lectures, tutorials or
text books. I am a firm believer in self help, mainly in the form
of using appropriate books in the library
to supplement lecture notes. You will appreciate this skill when
you go out to work, especially in this fast changing information
technology field.
I have designed into the quiz an automatic statistics gathering mechanism. This means as more students attempt the quiz, we can begin to observe which areas or topics students have difficulty understanding. This information is also meant for you to gauge where you are in relation to the rest of your classmates. It also allows me to appreciate better which areas students have most problems or misunderstandings.
In order for the statistics to be meaningful, you will have to
complete all the questions in one sitting. Also avoid guessing
the answers. If you do not know say so. Nobody is taking down
any names, all submission are strictly anonymous.
