I
am currently Associate Professor at the Wee Kim Wee School of
Communication and Information. My
research interests lie mainly in information science and knowledge management,
particularly in the context of social media. I have published
close to 200 papers in these areas in leading international journals and
conferences. Some of the research
awards I won include the Inaugural Research Prize at the Universitas 21 Global
(2005), Highly Commendable Award from Aslib
Proceedings (2006), Best Demonstration Award at the International Conference on
Social Informatics (2011), Highly Commendable Award from Online Information
Review (2013, 2015), Outstanding Research Award from Journal of Knowledge
Management (2014), as well as the Best Paper Award at the International
Association of Engineers Conferences (2015, 2018), Highly Commendable Award
from Journal of Intellectual Capital (2017).
For my contribution as an
administrator, I have been awarded the Public Administration Medal (Bronze)
from the President of Singapore in 2015. Then in 2016, I won the Nanyang
Education Award (School) for my teaching excellence at the University.
I
serve on the editorial board of a number of peer-refereed journals, and have
co-chaired the ‘Social Computing’ track in the International Conference on
Information Technology: New Conference (ITNG) held in Las Vegas, USA from
2009-2011.
Apart
from maintaining an active research record, I have been regularly invited to
speak in conferences and seminars on topics related to information science and
knowledge management. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Science (Computer Science),
a second Bachelor’s degree in Arts (Theology), a Master’s degree in Education
(Training and Development), a second Master’s degree in Theology and a
Doctorate in Business Administration.
If
you are exploring the possibility of pursuing a PhD in areas similar to my
interests and are keen to become a research-active scholar, feel free to drop
me a note. I am most happy to bounce off
ideas with you.
