These are the graduate-level courses I am
currently teaching:
CI6204:
Software Project Management
This course assumes no prior knowledge in
project management techniques and is designed to help students develop
effective approaches and styles of managing software projects. This course is
segmented into four main parts. The
first part introduces the boundary and principles of software project management.
The second part examines the core project management knowledge areas, namely,
scope, time, cost and quality management.
In the third part, the facilitating project management knowledge areas
including human resource, communication, risk, and procurement management are
discussed. The final part provides the opportunity for students to analyse software project management cases using the
concepts and techniques taught earlier.
K6316: Organisational Leadership
This course comprises three main parts.
First, it lays the foundation by introducing the concept of leadership. Various
research approaches, covering both historical and contemporary development,
will be studied. The second part explores leadership and its immediate sphere
of influence. Topics such as power, leadership communication and leading teams
will be discussed. This section concludes with followership, a rarely-examined
side of the leader-follower equation. In the final part, this course presents
the leader within the larger context of the organisation.
Topics such as managing innovation, strategy and change will be presented.
