I like Steffi Graf ever since I started watching tennis matches on television. Why I like her? Simply because of her style of play. The way she slices her backhand and the tennis ball landed nicely at the edge of the line of the opponent's court. I like her forehand too, so powerful yet soft enough to reach the opponent's court. Who can do such a stroke like her? Her drop shot is intelligent too.
But she is critised for not going to the net too often. This is quite true because she normally waits at the baseline for the ball to arrive. But once in a while, she would go forward to the net and do a volley. If she does that, the crowd will applause especially in the French Open where her supporters are..
I've seen her on the television during the French Open 1999. She says that is her last French Open. But I think she still has a few good years ahead of her. I hope this isn't gonna be her last Wimbledon too though there is news that it might be.
