Title:    Scheduling warehouse operations

Objective:        Develop a scheduling system for warehouse operations at ST logistics.
Scope:            Study operations and literature. Develop the system and do an optimization
                       study. Recommend on the use of PPC systems for the warehouse operations.

Title:     Forecasting the COE prices for the below 1600cc category

Objective:    To develop a forecasting model for foreclasting COE prices for the below
                    1600cc category cars and validate the model.
Scope:        Develop the model, test it against real data from previous years. Used the model to
                forecast for next 6 months. Model would use data on GDP (and other indicators of
                economy), car prices, stock market index and CPI.
 

Title:      Developing the framework for a web-based Beer Game

Objective:    The objective of this project is to develop a framework which can then be used
                    in the development of the web-based Beer Game
Scope:         The framework should define the attributes of and modules comprising the web-based
                    Beer game. It should be detailed enough to be used as a blue-print for the actual
                    development of the web-based beer game.
 

Title:      Development of a Throughput Management tool using MS-Excel

Objective:    To develop a software tool for setting throughput targets for the factory resources.
                    The tool would be based on the MS-Excel software.
Scope:          The tool would be based on MS-Excel and should be able to set daily and weekly
                    throughput targets for all the resources in the factory, taking into the resource
                    availabilities, and actual customer orders.

 

Title:    Activity-based costing for electronics manufacturers

Objective:    To develop an activity-based costing tool for electronics manufacturers
Scope:        Study activity-based costing (ABC) procedures. Develop a tool for ABC
                    of electronics manufacturing. Tool is to be based on a capacity model of
                    the manufacturing domain. Also provide some results using real-life data.
