Presentation of the French Module
French language modules are offered by the School of Humanities and Social Sciences as free elective courses at introductory, intermediate and advanced levels. These modules offer students of different disciplines an opportunity to experience the intellectual and personal enrichment that comes with learning new languages as well as discover its culture.
Students are able to sit for DELF A1, A2 or B1 external examinations.
Learning French using edveNTUre as well as LAMS.
Lessons and class activities are conducted in an interactive way. Depending on the nature of the exercises, pair work, group work and role-play are popular methods of teaching. In addition to the textbook and supplementary handouts, video/audio tapes and CDs are used in the classroom. Students are also encouraged to use the foreign language section of the library for self-study.
Our students have unlimited access to Edventure, a web-based platform. Edventure provides our students with information regarding the French lessons and French culture; it also contains many online exercises. Thanks to Edventure, students can practise their pronunciation in their own time and at their own pace anywhere by downloading audio files and cross-checking their knowledge by doing the online exercises.
LAMS is a revolutionary new tool for designing, managing and delivering online collaborative learning activities. It provides teachers with a highly intuitive visual authoring environment for creating sequences of learning activities. These activities can include a range of individual tasks, small group work and whole class activities based on both content and collaboration.
