Flu Vaccination

:

1) Vaccines tend to take effect 1-2 weeks later

2) Participant should not be experiencing fever on the day of the intended vaccination

3) Anyone with egg allergy is not suitable for the flu vaccine

4) Pregnant women should not be vaccinated

5) New flu vaccine - Fluarix Tetra - 4 strains flu vaccine coverage:

an A/California/7/2009 (H1N1)pdm09-like virus
an A/Switzerland/9715293/2013 (H3N2)-like virus
a B/Phuket/3073/2013-like virus
a B/Brisbane/60/2008-like virus (new)

1. Register for the event –
- If you existing system user- login with your NRIC, click on any of the date of the Eye Screening event eg – Flu Vaccination 2015- 20Oct2015 (Tue), and select (radio button) the time slot that you would like to take part, and click on Register button.

- If you are a new user, click on the Create New User to register yourself, you will receive a confirmation email with an email Subject (Your confirmation link here), click on the URL link in the confirmation email to complete the user registration process.

Upon clicking on the confirmation URL link, system will display the Event Management System login page, click on the Login button, and login with your NRIC and password.

Click on the Event Title eg – Flu Vaccination 2015 - 20Oct2015 (Tue), and select (radio button) the time slot that you would like to take part, and click on the Register button. You will receive a confirmation email for the event registration, and it states the event name and time slot that you have registered.

2. Cancel / Change of booking - login with your user id & password, click on the Event title that you have registered, and click on the “Change” next to your event date & time, system will cancel your original booking, and if you want to re-book your slot, select the time slot that you want to book again.

Remark 
:
 The flu vaccine protects against 4 strains of the most commonly circulating influenza virus that is predominant in the world. This includes protection against the H1N1 virus that is still the most common influenza strain in Singapore. Flu typically causes high fever, lethargy, headache, body ache, and sore throat. The flu vaccine is recommended for those 65 years and above whose immunity against infection is generally weaker, and for anyone else whether travelling or otherwise, who wants to be protected against this very common and easily transmissible airborne disease. The recommended frequency of flu vaccination is once a year, due in part to the changing strains of flu virus every year.
This flu vaccine covers for Northern Hemisphere influenza season.
