has undergone a remarkable transformation in recent years. Remember when
remote working, virtual teams, and even virtual recruitment weren't even a
thing a few years back? Well, these practices are now so prevalent in
organisations that it's almost hard to imagine operating without them. HR’S ROLE IN THE
WORKPLACE TRANSFORMATION Remote work is now the
norm, and the role of Human Resources (HR) in supporting and navigating
organisations through this shift has been crucial. Businesses must embrace
and accelerate digitalisation across their organisation to ensure business
continuity, especially during the COVID-19 situation. These changes have had
a deep impact on how people connect with one another and how societies
function. At the same time, it has also caused talent problems like the Great
Resignation and exacerbated skill shortages across several industries. Recognising the
significance of HR's role, Senior Minister of State for Manpower, Zaqy Mohamad, recently unveiled the Human
Resource Industry Transformation Plan. In this initiative,
he emphasised the importance of viewing HR as strategic assets and partners
in management meetings and boardrooms. "Businesses that
have a strong and strategic HR enable them to stay competitive, attract, and
grow the right talent to support business objectives, and seize new
opportunities.” Likewise, HR
executives must proactively assist their business counterparts, re-examine
procedures to redefine business stability, and drive people transformation to
strengthen their organisations' ability to support the future of work. GET STARTED IN YOUR
