Highlights of the
week:
For more career
opportunities from various industries, please access Career Axis. Dear Students, The manufacturing sector
in Singapore has always been known for providing ample opportunities to fresh
graduates like yourself. However, in
Singapore Economic Development Board’s recent publication, it may seem that
growth outlook for manufacturing is slowing down amidst continued supply
chain challenges and operational cost pressures. The downcycle in
semiconductor industry is apparent with recent global happenings such as the
on-going geopolitical tension, softening of consumer demand, etc.
Unavoidably, the manufacturing sector, among many others, have been impacted
by these challenges in one way or another. Despite these
concerns, the industry remains positive for future growth. KPMG’s
2023 report suggests that growth is expected in the semiconductor sector
thanks to improvements in inventory and increased spending in R&D and
talent. The continued demand for advancements in IoT and AI also further
outlines the importance of semiconductor in shaping the future. ⚙️⚙️⚙️ Most industries
