Dear Students,

 

Let’s begin with some fun Tax facts:

 

Fact #1: There is no known civilisation that did not impose taxes. Even the very first known civilisation, the Sumerians, recorded their tax history on clay cones*.

 

Fact #2: The far-reaching impact of tax can be observed in the English language too! Guess what has the term “daylight robbery” got to do with tax? Read about the Window Tax that was in force in the 18th and 19th centuries.

 

Aren’t you comforted that there is a stable profession that has existed since the first civilisation? How cool is that! Talk about a sustainable career!
