Highlights of the week: For more career opportunities from various industries, please access Career Axis. Dear Students As we are right in the midst of your examination period, here’s
wishing you the very best and do ensure to exercise self-care even while you
mug for finals! Regardless if you are about to graduate in May 2022 or are in search
of job opportunities to gain corporate experience during your upcoming
holidays, continue to take a proactive approach by sourcing for suitable
positions in the Career Axis. Below are some job opportunities that
you may consider and apply if they fit what you are searching for! Always remember never to do yourself the disfavour by thinking that
the job opening would be too competitive; the interview process too
challenging and tedious; or your portfolio is lacking for the position. Live
by Nike’s iconic “Just Do It” tagline and go for it so long as you possess
the passion and interest for the company and the role. While careful
consideration for your future prospects is definitely critical, over-thinking
might do more harm as you undermine yourself and your chances of securing
that dream job in the company that you aspire to work at. Better to ask “What’s the worst that can happen by trying?” over “What
if I tried? Would I have stand a chance?” Quoting Forrest Gump, “Life is like
a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get.” In another words,
life is full of surprises – you would not know what will happen next, if you
never try. For those who are concurrently preparing for your upcoming interview
as you have been shortlisted by FMCG companies like Unilever, Nestle,
P&G, L’Oréal, Heineken, and so forth, be it to attend face-to-face
interview and/or via the assessment centre, you may like to note the following
tips: ·
Identify,
remember and share (where possible) your basis of motivation on wanting to
join the company and the role you have applied for ·
Take
note and plan how you would answer situational questions such as, “name a
challenging situation you had encountered and how you overcome it” ·
Speak
up and be participative during sessions at the Assessment Centre ·
Prepare.
Do sufficient research and build up an understanding of the business and your
business area of interest in advance. ·
Don’t
forget to smile! That’s what makes you personable and also helps you relax. ·
Ask
questions like you are already part of the team. Not only is the selection
process a two-way process, demonstrate your eagerness and readiness to join
the organisation. Top Tips! ·
Be
yourself. This cannot be stressed enough. ·
Be
engaging and enthusiastic. Pause and think about the question asked and take
your time in answering so that you are clear and understood. ·
Review
and evaluate each stage of interview: what have your discovered about
yourself? Reflect on any key learnings and how you might use them in the
future. Job
