This Oriental Whip Snake (Ahaetulla prasina) though only mildly venomous (venom is too weak to cause any ill effects on humans), is often killed probably because it is bright green. It frequents bushes and shrubs, camouflaging well in the green foliage. Its young are brown in colour. It can grow to 2m and lives on small vertebrates (lizards, frogs and birds).
