Seeing the Sights

Singapore in a couple of days

Here some recommendations on what you and your visiting family and friends should see before leaving Singapore:

  • Night Safari – there is nothing like it anywhere else and a good option for those who are leaving late that evening (luggage can be stored there)
  • Little India (if you haven’t been to India) – the smells and colours are amazing
  • China Town – nice architecture and cheap clothes from China
  • Botanical Gardens, Mac Ritchie Reservoir, Pulau Ubin, and/or Bukit Timah – depending on how much you like the outdoors
  • A taste of local hawker fare and a walk through the shops and wet markets at Jurong West HDBs (at Nanyang CC)
  • Riverside Walk on Clarke and Boat Quay, Fullerton with Merlion, City Hall area with government buildings and commemorative places, the Esplanade and a Singaporean Sling at Raffles Hotel – a colonial history walk with a fruity refreshment at the end
  • Jurong Bird Park – the shows are great and it is close
  • A Singaporean play – gives good insights into local issues, great talent here
