CHANG Joseph Sylvester

Joseph Chang received his Ph.D from the Department of Otolaryngology, the University of Melbourne, Australia. He is presently with the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, and is adjunct at the Texas A&M University (USA). He was the former Associate Dean (Research and Graduate Studies), College of Engineering, NTU..

He has received numerous research grants including from DARPA (USA), European Union, industrial grants from multinational corporations, Singapore's A*STAR and MoE, etc. He has active research international collaborations, including with Caltech, MIT and Cornell University. He has founded two start-ups. He is also active in professional societies, including having served as General Chairs of several IEEE-NIH and international conferences and editor and associate editors of premier IEEE journals and magazines, including as Guest Editor of the Proceedings of the IEEE. His research interests include bioengineering, audiology, psychoacoustics, and analog and digital circuit designs

Dr Gwee Bah Hwee received his B.Eng (Hons) from the University of Aberdeen, UK, in 1990. He received his M.Eng and Ph.D degrees from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 1992 and 1998 respectively. Dr Gwee has both industrial and academic research experiences. In industry, he worked as a research engineer at SEIKO Instruments. In academia, he worked as a Lecturer in Temasek Polytechnic, Singapore. He was an Assistant Professor in School of EEE, NTU from 1999 to 2005 and has been an Associate Professor in NTU since 2005. He is the Principal Investigator of several local and international grants, including the AcRF Tier-2, ASEAN-EU University Network Programme (AUNP) grant, Defence Science Organization and Co- Principal Investigator of DARPA (USA), NTU-Panasonic Semiconductors, NTU-Linköping University (Sweden) joint research collaboration and projects. He has filed several patents in circuit designs and has 1 US patent granted.

Dr Gwee was the Chairman for IEEE Singapore – Circuits and Systems Chapter in 2005 and 2006. He was the Technical Programme Chair for International Symposium for Integrated Circuits, 2007. He is the Committee Member of IEEE Circuits and Systems Society DSP, VLSI Systems and Biomedical Circuits and Systems and Life-Science Systems and Applications Technical Committees. He has been serving as an Associate Editor for the journal of Circuits, Systems and Signal Processing since 2007. He has been an IEEE Senior Member since 2003. He is currently an IEEE Distinguished Lecturer (2009/2010) for IEEE Circuits and Systems Society.

His research interests are low power asynchronous microprocessor, digital signal processor design, digital class-d amplifier design, bio-informatics soft computing and acoustical noise reduction.

LIM Yong Ching

Yong Ching obtained the A.C.G.I and B.Sc degrees in 1977 and the D.I.C. and Ph.D. degrees in 1980, in electrical engineering from Imperial College, University of London, U.K.

From 1980 to 1982, he was a National Research Council Research Associate in the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California. From 1982 to 2003, he was a lecturer in the National University of Singapore. Since 2003, he has been with the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Nanyang Technological University.

Yong Ching received numerous awards including the 1996 IEEE Circuits and Systems Society's Guillemin-Cauer Award, the 1990 IREE (Australia) Norman Hayes Award, the 1977 IEE (UK) Prize and the 1974-77 Siemens Memorial (Imperial College) Award. He is a Fellow of the IEEE. He served as General Chair for APCCAS 2006 and Co-General Chair for ISCAS 2009.

SHU Wei

Wei Shu received the B.Eng. degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2005, and the Ph.D. in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU.

He is currently Research Scientist in TL@NTU, is working on two projects. One is a collaborative project with MIT (USA) to design a readout integrated circuit for multispectral infrared sensor arrays, and the other one is to design a ultra-high speed Digital-to-Analog Convertor.

His research interests include analog signal processing, sensor and low-noise signal conditioning, power management and analog power amplifiers, high speed mixed-signal designs.

YU Yajun

Yu Yajun received the B.Sc and M.Eng in Biomedical Engineering from Zhejiang University, Hangzhou, China, in 1994 and 1997, respectively, and the Ph.D in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2004.

From 1997 to 1998, she was a Teaching Assistant with Zhejiang University. She joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, National University of Singapore as a Post Master Fellow in 1998 and remained in the same department as a Research Engineer until 2004. In 2002, she was a Visiting Researcher at the Tampere University of Technology, Tampere, Finland and the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, Hong Kong, China. She joined the Temasek Laboratories at Nanyang Technological University as a Research Fellow in 2004. Since 2005, she has been with the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, where she is currently an Assistant Professor. In 2009, she was a Visiting Professor at Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia. Her research interests include digital signal processing and VLSI circuits and systems design.

Dr. Yu has served as an associate editor for CIRCUITS SYSTEMS AND SIGNAL PROCESSING and IEEE TRANSACTIONS ON CIRCUITS AND SYSTEMS II since 2009 and 2010, respectively.

CHONG Kwen Siong

Chong Kwen Siong received the B.Eng, M.Phil and Ph.D in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2001, 2002, and 2007 respectively. He is presently a Research Scientist with TL@NTU, Singapore. His research interests include asynchronous VLSI designs, low-voltage low power methodologies, audio signal processing, FPGA prototyping and digital filterbank designs. He is a member of IEEE, and a technical committee for IEEE VLSI Systems and Applications (VSA).

Jun Wei obtained his Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from the National University of Singapore in 2001. He obtained his PhD degree in 2007, from both the Technical University of Eindhoven (Netherlands) and the National University of Singapore. His area of research is in digital signal processing, filter bank designs and audio compression technology.

Victor Adrian received the B.Eng, M.Phil, and Ph.D from the Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, in 2003, 2004, and 2010 respectively. He worked as a Project Officer at NTU from 2004 to 2005. He was awarded a Singapore Millennium Foundation Ph.D. scholarship in 2005. His research interests include digital Class D amplifiers, switched-mode dc-dc converters, modulation schemes, high-speed digital-to-analog converters, and acoustic noise reduction.

Yiqiong received the B.Eng Electrical and Electronic Engineering from Nanyang Technological University in 2004. She is currently pursuing the Ph.D degree in NTU. Her research interests include asynchronous VLSI design, microprocessor and digital signal processor design, and CAD tools for analysis and verification.

Lin Tong received his Bachelor's degree (Electrical & Electronic Engineering, 1st Class Hons) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2008. He was a recipient of the Nanyang President’s Graduate Scholarship, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D at the School of Electrical & Electronic Engineering, NTU.

His current research interest is in Ultra-robust, Ultra-low power asynchronous-logic digital integrated circuit/system design.

Liu Jingyuan graduated with a Bachelor of Electronics and Information Engineering in 2012 from Wuhan University, China. He obtained his Master Degree (Master of Science) from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2013.

He joined TL@NTU in 2013 and currently is working as a Research Associate. His area of research is low cost, low noise MEMS Gyroscopic Sensor.

He joined TL@NTU in 2011 and currently is working as a Research Assistant. His area of research includes high speed, high resolution system-on-chip ADC.

Saihua graduated with a Bachelor's Degree with First Class Honors in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from NTU in 2008.

She joined TL@NTU in September 2008 as a Research Assistant in the Signal Processing on Chip group.

Saihua is a part time Ph.D student in the school of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, NTU since August 2009.

His research interests include switching power converters, reactive power optimization and smart grid.

LOY Tai Wei

Tai Wei graduated with a Diploma in Mechatronics Engineering from Nanyang Polytechnic in 2009.

He is currently pursuing his part time Bachelor's of Mechanical Engineering Degree in Nanyang Technological University.

He joined TL@NTU in 2012 as a Technical Executive. His area of work includes design, development and assembly of electronics hardware systems. This will mainly involve computer-aided design of Printed Circuit Boards.
