Do not exchange more than for a taxi ride (~S$20) at Changi airport--the exchange rate is low there. The conference hotel is surrounded by shopping centres, and the nearest--Marina Square Shopping Mall--is adjoining it. You can find exchange booths there as well as in other shopping centres across the road (Suntec City Mall, Millenia Walk). The shops open at ~10am and close at 10pm.
