SCI Alumnus Wins Most Promising Journalist Award 2006
TODAY journalist, Ms Valerie Law, an NTU/SCI graduate, picked up the Most Promising Journalist award at the Securities Investors Association's (Singapore) 7th Investors' Choice Awards. Her article explaining a little-known pitfall in the use of CPF savings to pay for one's home loan made such an impact that one stock-broking firm even sent a copy of it to all its clients. Ms Law, a joint winner in her category, has been on the job for just two years. She was selected by a panel of people in the industry and judged on criteria such as news value, originality, reportorial quality, analytical value and impact.
