for those who want to work as reporters.
The Division of Journalism and Publishing focuses on print
journalism, photojournalism, online information services,
and media management.
In this division, you will learn about writing stories
that go into print media, such as magazines and newspapers.
You will be trained in various reporting techniques and
analyses, and also get an insight into the workings of
media enterprises.

of Electronic and Broadcast Media
Fancy a career in radio, TV, or multimedia production?
The Division of Electronic and Broadcast Media instills
you with the know-how and technical expertise that is
required for your future career.
Coursework provides you with a sound understanding of
the context of production, information technology, and
film studies. You will have a good feel of everything
that exists within the electronic and broadcast media,
such as scriptwriting and network systems.

of Public and Promotional Communication exposes you to
public relations, advertising, marketing, issues management

your messages through various forms of media – for
government, non-profit organisations, and private corporations.

is for you. The Division of Communication Research focuses
on the analysis of issues such as media effects on audiences,
cross-cultural communication, international communication
policy and organisational communication.
You will also learn different forms of analyses, and how
to best communicate your research findings to the intended
recipients, through print and audiovisual media.

Division of Information Studies (Graduate Level) The Division
of Information Studies carries out research and teaching
in the areas of information science, library and information
services, knowledge management, information systems, archives
and digital libraries.
It offers the following postgraduate programmes: MSc

(Information Systems), M.Applied
Science, and the PhD.
Research projects are carried out in four research groups:
