BASIC INFORMATION

Conference Fee:
Thanks to our sponsors, we are able to offer you a very preferential rate from 100.00 € (120.00 $). The rate includes accommodation in a double room and breakfest, lunches, coffee, evening events and conference services. For a single room you have to pay 75.00 € (90.00 $) extra.

Accomodation:
We have reserved all the 29 rooms in the Hotel "Rathener Hof", the conference venue. The majority of the rooms are double rooms. We would be thankful if you could indicate your readiness to share the room with another person so that we can allow more people to participate.

We have made an additional reservation for 11 rooms in the Hotel "Elbschlösschen" on the other side of the river. The "Elbschlösschen" is a four star hotel with a large wellness area. The single room is 85.00 €, including breakfast. People making reservations in the Hotel "Elbschlösschen" have to pay their own hotel bill. For them, the conference fee is 75.00 € (90.00 $) which includes all meals, coffee, evening events and conference service.

Transportation:

By Air:
If you arrive at Dresden-Airport go to the S-Bahn and take the S-2 train to "Heidenau" (via Dresden-Main Station). The train leaves every 30 minutes (10.16, 10.46, 11.16, 11.46, 12.16, 12.46 etc). Riding time is 40 minutes. In Heidenau you have to change the train. You can stay on the same platform and wait for S-1 (waiting time about 15 minutes). S-1 is the train for "Schöna". The station "Kurort Rathen" is the 6th stop. Riding time from Heidenau to Kurort Rathen is 11 minutes.

By Train:
If you arrive at Dresden Main Station (Hauptbahnhof) go to the S-Bahn and take S-1 to Schöna. The train leaves every 30 minutes (10.00, 11.30, 11.00, 11.30, 12.00, 12.30 etc.). Riding time to "Kurort Rathen" is 35 minutes.

Local Transportation:
The Hotel "Rathener Hof" is on the left side of the river, the same side like the train station "Kurort Rathen". It is a 15 minutes walk from the train station "Kurort Rathen" to the Hotel "Rathener Hof". If you let us know your exact arrival time, we will meet you at the station and drive you and your luggage to the hotel.

Participants, living in the "Elbschlösschen-Hotel" have to take the ferry across the river Elbe. The Ferry-Station is just behind the train station. It is a three minutes walk. The Hotel "Elbschlösschen" is another three minutes walk from the Ferry-Station on the right side of the river. On Friday and Saturday morning, we will organize a shuttle service from the ferry station to the Hotel "Rathener Hof".

Thursday Evening BBQ
On Thursday evening we invite you for a BBQ on the terrace of the Hotel "Rathener Hof", where you have a nice view over the Elbe valley and the surrounding mountains. If it is rainy, will have the BBQ in the hotel restaurant.

Friday Evening Reception "Festung Königstein"
On Friday evening, we invite you to join an evening reception on the "Festung Königstein", an old fortress which was established in 1241. Buses will bring you to the venue.

Saturday Walk to Bastei:
If there is no rain, we offer you on Saturday afternoon a nice walk to the "Bastei", a wonderful panorama restaurant with a breathtaking view over the Elbe valley. We have to cross the river by the ferry and then walk uphill for about 40 minutes.


Sunday Travel back to Dresden:
On Sunday morning, there are two options to go back to Dresden, the host city of the Annual ICA Conference: by boat or by train. The S-Bahn leaves every 30 minutes and needs 35 minutes to Dresden Main Station (Hauptbahnhof). But we recommend to join us for a boat ride down the river Elbe. The boat starts at 10.30 from Kurort Rathen. It is a very pleasant journey, in particular if we have sunshine. The boat needs about 4 hours to Dresden-Terrassenufer, which is next to the Hilton-Hotel, one of the main conference venues of the ICA meeting. The boat ticket is 20.00 € per Person.
