   Research, Teaching and Professional Experience
After graduating from the interdisciplinary Communication and Information Sciences doctoral program at University of Hawai’i at Manoa, Dr. Lin joined the school in 2007. Previously, she worked for several years in TV and radio stations in Taiwan as a host, anchor, reporter, and producer. At Eastern TV and Formosa TV, she produce d current affairs, entertainment news, news feature programs, call-in programs, and social-cultural programs. One of her TV programs was nominated as the best social-cultural program in 34 th Taiwan’s Golden Bell Award. She also hosted and produced live Hakka radio programs and Hakka radio news, in addition to do programming consultation for one Taiwan’s satellite TV channel.
From 2000 to 2004, Dr Lin taught TV & radio production and news at Ming Chuan University in Taiwan. She also gave lectures in online journalism and multimedia production. In addition, she directed the campus TV and MCBS88.3 radio station, and guided student assistants in the production of a variety of broadcast news and programs. After rigorous training, her students won a number of national awards and many worked successfully in Taiwan’s broadcasting industry. After joining WKWSCI, she taught courses related to broadcast and digital journalism, TV production, new technology and creative practices, etc. In July, 2008, she established NTU’s campus TV, Spectrum TV, and guided student to produce TV news and programs.
Dr. Lin’s research interest focuses on digital technologies in b roadcasting and new media , mobile media , digital journalism, and the adoption and implementation of ICTs in organizations. In 2004, she was granted an Australia Asia Executive Award by the Australian Government Department of Education . As a visiting scholar at the University of New South Wales, she conducted research on Australia’s digital TV industry. Previously, she has published and presented papers regarding ICTs diffusion in TV stations, technological convergence in TV applications, digital TV market and policies, mobile TV in Asia, and representation and strategies of blogging.

Faculty at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information publish and present their work in many areas of communication and information studies.
