   Research, Teaching and Professional Experience

Marko M. Skoric holds a Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Michigan, and a B.Sc. in Psychology from the University College London, UK. Dr. Skoric’s teaching and research interests are focused on new media and social change, with particular emphasis on civic and political implications of new communication technologies. He has also conducted studies on video-games, framing in the news, effects of web advertisements, and social and political implications of broadband technologies, among other topics. His work on the impact of video gaming has been cited in the international news media, including The Economist and The Washington Post. Dr. Skoric has received several top-paper awards from the prestigious communication studies conferences, including AEJMC, ICA and NCA. His research has appeared in edited volumes and peer-reviewed journals such as Mass Communication & Society, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, Communication Monographs, Asian Journal of Communication, Journal of Computer-Mediated Communication and CyberPsychology and Behavior.
