   Research, Teaching and Professional Experience
Prior to joining the School in 2005, Dr Skoric taught and worked as a research assistant at the University of Michigan. His teaching and research interests include new communication technologies and social change, political communication, media effects, and research methods.
His most recent work focuses on the role of cultural variables in the relationship between communication technologies and political development in an international context. He has also conducted studies on video-game violence, framing in the news, effects of web advertisements, and social and political implications of broadband technologies, among other topics.
A study of the impact of online gaming on aggression, co-authored by Dr. Skoric has been widely cited in the international news media, including The Economist and The Washington Post. He has received several top-paper awards from prestigious communication studies conferences, including AEJMC, ICA and NCA. His work has appeared in edited volumes and peer-reviewed journals such as Mass Communication & Society, Journal of Broadcasting & Electronic Media, and Communication Monographs.
