Research, Teaching and Professional Experience |

Dr. Majid has worked in the information directorate of a national science & technology research centre in Pakistan for over 15 years. He has done pioneering work in the design and initiation of specialised information services. |

He has implemented a national library project which used the latest information technology to help 17 agricultural libraries in Pakistan start their modern information services. He has provided consultancy services to many libraries in Pakistan and Malaysia pertaining to the automation of their collections and services. He has conducted more than 15 training workshops and courses in different countries for the library and information professionals. |

Before joining NTU in 2000, Dr. Majid has taught for eight years in a Malaysian university. His research interests include the use of IT in information Organisations, information needs and information seeking patterns, competitor intelligence, and continuing professional development. |
