   Research, Teaching and Professional Experience
Dr. Karan joined NTU in July 2001. A recipient of the prestigious Nehru Centenary British Fellowship, she was both an Associate Professor and the Head of Department of Communication and Journalism, Osmania University, Hyderabad, India. She has been teaching postgraduate students of communication and journalism for the past 15 years.
In addition, she has trained officials, media personnel and executives from various government organisations, media institutes and corporate bodies in India. She has presented papers at various national and international conferences and seminars in many countries.

  Selected Works
Faculty at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information publish and present their work in many areas of communication and information studies. The publications and presentations range from communication law and policy, media effects, public relations, organisational communication and culture, advertising, gender studies to information technology and knowledge management.
