He said that people derive value from belonging to a network, be it to share music or what not, adding that online identity allows the younger set to portray themselves as something different from real life. In a related article (10 Jun 07, Pg L8) that carried advice from experts on potential dangers online, NTU media law lecturer Mark Cenite was featured giving advice to the question “What if somebody impersonates me on Friendster, Facebook or MySpace?”.
