30 September 2009 Call for Participation:
Ethical Guidance for Research and Application of
Pervasive and Autonomous Information Technology (PAIT) - March 3-4, 2010, Cincinnati, Ohio. Made possible by the National Science Foundation (grant number SES-0848097), Indiana University's Poynter Center for the Study of Ethics and American Institutions and the Association for Practical and Professional Ethics, this two-day workshop will convene an international meeting of experts in PAIT, ethicists well versed in practical ethics, and other stakeholders. This Award is open to all currently enrolled, and entering, students of the Master of Communication Studies/WKWSCI PhD programme by January 2010. The Ministry of Education (MOE) received a total of 23 proposals from 3 Institutions of Higher Learning for the NRF’s R&D programme on IDM in Education, and only 5 proposals including Dr Chen’s were successful. He recently launched College Media Matters (www.collegemediamatters.com), a Web site/blog providing news and notes on everything that is influential, controversial, innovative, and newsworthy about modern college media, existing because they do matter and are not being talked about nearly enough. It is the only daily-updated blog of its kind. For more details, please click here. 2 August 2007 The State of Play V Building the Global Metaverse was held in Singapore, on 19-22 August 2007. The State of Play Building the Global Metaverse 2007 was the fifth annual conference on the future of virtual worlds. Organised by New York Law School in conjunction with Trinity University, Harvard Law School, Yale Law School and Nanyang Technological University (CAPTEL, Nanyang Business School and SiRC, Wee Kim Wee School of Communication & Information), this years conference invited experts across disciplines to discuss the transnational dimensions of the metaverse and the impact of virtual environment on Education, Law, Politics and Society.
