Introduction
The International Symposium on Exploring the Frontiers of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering is dedicated to the research frontiers pursued in top chemical and biomedical engineering programs in China, Singapore and other Asian universities. So far there have been a successful series of conferences in National University of Singapore (2000), Tianjin University (2002), Tsinghua University (2004), Nanyang Technological University (2005), Tianjin University (2006), Zhejiang University (2008), and Beijing University of Chemical Technology (2009). The next Symposium will take place from 24th to 26th, May, 2010 in Singapore. This year’s event is organized by the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering, Nanyang Technological University.
The key objective of the symposium is to reflect the advances in the field of chemical and biomedical engineering, provide forum for academics, researchers, and students, to interact, exchange ideas, discuss current research frontiers in chemical and biomedical engineering and chart possible collaborations. It is aimed to bring the participants up to date with latest research trends in the top chemical and biomedical engineering programs. This year’s symposium will focus on four vibrant areas including: (1) bionano & pharmaceutical technology; (2) advanced nanomaterials and catalysis; (3) system engineering; and (4) synthetic biology. The best presentation and poster awards will be given to selected student participants to motivate them to pursue research in chemical and biomedical engineering.
The organizing committee welcomes you to our beautiful Yunnan garden campus to experience the Youth Olympic Village ahead of the first Youth Olympic Games in Singapore in 2010. Social activities will also be organized for accompanying persons to visit the grandly opened Integrated Resorts and Universal Studios, Singapore.
